
It was an era of architectural upheaval, cool cars, and boundless optimism. Many dreamed of creating a better society through architecture. With this series, I wanted to recreate that dream of mid-century modern life.
Modern

Not everything in the mid-century had the sheen of optimism. This was also the era that gave birth to film noir and showed the dark side of the American Dream. It’s often seen as idyllic by tourists but my home town of Vancouver also has a dark side and a history to match. With this series of photographs, I wanted to reimagine some of those early films as well the neo-noir movement that followed.
